From the Co‑Chairs
March arrives with that familiar Nevada blend of wind, grit, and renewal. Even without a formal agenda this month, our meeting brought forward one of the healthiest, most grounded political conversations we’ve had in a long while, the kind that reminds us why we’re here and what we stand for.

Supporting Nonpartisan Candidates Who Align With Our Platform
Members engaged in a thoughtful discussion about how to support nonpartisan candidates whose values and commitments align with the Nevada Green Party platform. The focus was on integrity, transparency, and shared principles, not party labels, while the Nevada Green Party will only endorse registered Green Party members.

Clear Boundaries on Candidate Positions
The group also discussed drawing a firm line regarding candidates who support a two‑state solution for Palestine. Members expressed that alignment with the party’s platform requires a commitment to human rights and self‑determination, and that this stance is non negotiable.
The conversation also touched on candidates who pledge not to accept funding from certain political organizations. Members emphasized that funding pledges alone are not enough if the underlying political positions remain misaligned with our platform.

Local Candidate: James Simmons for Clark County Commission, District E
We’re proud to share that James Simmons, a registered Green Party member, is running for Clark County Commissioner, District E.
Members discussed ways to support his campaign, amplify his message, and help voters understand what a values‑driven candidacy looks like at the county level.

Green Party Participation in the March 28th “NO KINGS” Event
Members expressed enthusiasm about participating in the upcoming NO KINGS and being seen in Green for the event on March 28th. A community‑driven gathering, focused on democratic engagement, decentralization of power, and civic participation.

Nevada Green Party Leaves TikTok, Joins UpScrolled
This month, the Nevada Green Party made the decision to leave TikTok and transition our short‑form outreach to UpScrolled, a newer platform with clearer data‑privacy boundaries and a more transparent approach to user rights.
Our departure from TikTok follows the rollout of TikTok’s new Terms of Service for U.S. users, which now require acceptance in order to continue using the app. Members raised concerns about several key changes, including:

  • Expanded permission for TikTok to collect precise geolocation data
  • Broader allowances for how user data may be collected, used, and shared with advertisers
  • Reduced clarity around how data is stored and who may access it
  • The lack of meaningful opt‑out options for users who want to engage without surrendering additional personal information
As a party committed to digital rights, data transparency, and community safety, we chose to step away rather than ask our members or supporters to engage on a platform whose updated terms conflict with our values.
UpScrolled offers a more privacy‑respecting alternative for short‑form outreach, and we’ll be using it to share updates, event announcements, and community content moving forward.
You’ll find our new UpScrolled link posted in the Facebook Group and on our website as soon as a Desktop version becomes available.

Green Community Spotlight
These conversations strengthen our chapter and keep our work grounded. Nevada politics can feel like a dust storm; loud, unpredictable, and full of distractions. Our Party continues to build something steady: a movement rooted in clarity, care, and community.

The Nevada Green Party is the “We Party.”
We work together to solve real problems.
We believe in fairness, sustainability, and community.
Every person matters. Every action counts.
You are a part of WE.
And WE make change happen.
