My name is Derrick Miles and I’m seeking to represent Douglas County as an At-Large member to the Nevada Green Party Executive Committee. Having returned to my home state after briefly living in Washington, I am restless to reinvigorate my efforts into the Nevada Green Party.
Originally born and raised in Reno, I began my working career in Nevada’s hospitality industry before my transition to the cannabis industry in Washington; having ladder-climbed to management roles from entry level positioning in both.
Upon our return, my wife and I have now settled into Indian Hills, a General Improvement District in northern Douglas County, just outside our state’s capital.
I am a GPNV dues-paying member, as well as a dues-paying member of the Young Eco-Socialists, the youth caucus of GPUS. I also volunteer time to Real Progressives, a 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to educating the masses in economic, environmental, democratic and equality issues through independent media, policies and activism.
A few of the key issues in my focus are Cannabis Policy, Police Accountability, Environmental Conservation, Energy Sustainability, Workers Rights, and Modern Monetary Theory.
