Thank you for being a Nevada State Green Party Member!
Water, Land and Air, Oh My!: Nevada is currently seeking digital art and drawings for our Water mascot’ the Pupfish and Land mascot, the Tortoise! Please email us for the submission form and rules at nvgreenparty@gmail.com. The contest submission ends on 5.13.21. And guess what… We need an Air mascot! Are you eyeing a native Nevadan Bird, Bat, Butterfly, Bug that can be our aeronautical aviator? Please submit your suggestions for our Air mascot to nvgreenparty@gmail.com, we are working on another fun contest!
Earth Day: Shhh, did you know that those orange cones on our Nevada roads are really not a new species of cacti? Okay, so you knew. For Earth Day plant a cactus in Nevada to promote our natural water conservation. A bonus to planting more cacti in Nevada is the additional carbon filtration into breathable oxygen, only a plant can provide, via photosynthesis. Help our Nevada environment heal with nurturing native plantlife. Give all of our brains more oxygen for increased critical thinking during our human inflicted climate challenges.
Renewable Driven (Daniel Alves): Nevada has had great success in our tourism based economy but, we saw what 2020 and the pandemic did to us, it hobbled our main GDP. Nevada can expand to more than tourism. We have a great example of our state being a big battery for Los Angeles with the Hoover dam, but what if we continued to invest more into using our land to promote ecologically friendly power and become the battery pack of the United States. This vast beautiful desert state has the opportunity to put solar panels and wind turbines in already inhabited land, but we choose to sell that land to sprawling rural housing. If cities in Nevada invested in renewable energy, we could be carbon negative before the end of the decade and bounce out of this recession faster than ever. And with all that extra energy, we can sell it to our neighboring states and have a GDP to rival mid-sized countries. I’m not saying we expand and take a chunk out of nature but utilize the space we have. The state averages over 280 days of sunshine a year, if we can maximize on capturing it, we could be a powerhouse.
With all that electricity we could even power a massive high speed railway between cities and states, and reduce congestion. Larger cities would be able to power an entire public transportation fleet at little cost. Giving incentives and loans for residents and businesses to go full solar would make blackouts and overloads a thing of the past. Electricity will be cheaper than dirt. Expanding renewable energy like this would cause a massive influx of jobs. Solar has seen a 167% increase in jobs in the past decade, according to The Solar Foundation. Even if someone chooses to ignore climate change we still have to have the discussion of what happens when we run out of oil. We will need renewable energy very soon so let’s get a head start. We’re the gambling state and I think renewable energy investment is a gamble worth taking.
Social Media: Our biggest outreach path during our COVID distancing is social media through Facebook, Twitter, MeWe, and now we are going for YouTube & TikTok. We are looking for videos that will inspire voters to join the Nevada State Green Party. Show us your links! Tell us your Green Party Views, Dreams and Goals. We are building an interactive experience to transform profit priority, to People & Planet above Profit approach to politics, putting value back into LIFE.
No Party Preference: Nevada has the third largest registered voters being the No Party Preference NPP members at an outstanding 497,908. Most of the NPP voters are not registered into a promoted party because the promoted parties do not represent their political needs. The Nevada State Green Party is reaching out to the disenfranchised voters, to provide our platform for their review. We are currently working on voter registration videos that will show new voters how to register as a Nevada State Green Party member. If we together can bring home just 10% of the NPP voters, into the Nevada State Green Party that would bring in 49,790 new members giving NVGP automatic ballot access, at the same time achieving more choices and voices to ALL Voters in general elections.
Join us at our next GPNV meeting on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Look for the link in your email inbox and on all social media outlets, 3 hours before the meeting.
Nevada State Green Party Participation: No help is too small! Easy things to participate with are:

- Like, Share, Subscribe to the various social media platforms. The more activity that is generated the more the NVGP is seen.
- The Green Party platform is not just politics, the Green Party is a Philosophy to ensure responsible existence on Earth. Be proud to be a Green Party member and let others know they don’t have to follow the duopoly or disenfranchise themselves with NPP as only choices.
