NEVADA GREEN PARTY ENDORSES MATT HAND FOR STEERING COMMITTEE, SECRETARY OF THE GREEN PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES
(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) — The Nevada Green Party (NVGP) announces its endorsement of Matt Hand for Steering Committee, Secretary of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS).
Matt Hand is a dedicated member of the Maryland Green Party, with significant work experience in web development and project management. These and his other professional skills will serve the GPUS well as Secretary, the position with the most administrative responsibilities on the Steering Committee.
Hand is personable and approachable so he will be a friendly face while onboarding new delegates and committee members. He is timely and responsive, so communications will be efficient, and proposal-related deadlines will always be met. Hand is organized and motivated, so Steering Committee Members will always be prepared for meetings and thorough meeting minutes will be kept and shared transparently.
Hand is very willing and able to take a stand on social justice issues. He recently produced a top-tier webinar in support of transgender rights and reinforcing transgender inclusiveness, in the party platform named “Restorative Justice in Action.” The featured speaker, Margaret Elisabeth, Co-Chair of GPUS and Co-Chair of the National Lavender Greens Caucus, explained the accreditation challenge against the Georgia Green Party for the platforming of trans-discrimination. Another featured speaker, Amergin Ó Kai, Delegate on GPUS National Committee and Member of the National Lavender Greens Caucus, exposed the assault on Trans Rights, by state legislatures across the nation. The moderator, Delilah Barrios, candidate for Texas Governor 2022, Latinx Caucus member and Indigenous Caucus member, provided a safe space for speakers and attendees, to be candid on this personal and sensitive subject matter.
Hand provides excellent technical support to the NVGP on its web site. He volunteers for the Green Maps project that lists all state parties and their locals, and quickly provides new web sites forthe NVGP’s campaigns and committees. Hand developed the “Delilah Barrios for Texas Governor” web site and also designed the campaign logo and starter graphics. In recent years, Hand was a volunteer with the Franca Muller Paz campaign for Baltimore City Council (2020). He also designed the logo and yard sign graphics for the Bob Auerbach for Congress 2012 campaign, which helped to make Matt Hand a national figure in the Green Party. Clearly, Matt is more than willing to lend a hand when Greens need it most.
“We endorse Matt Hand for Secretary because we know he will support bold statements from the Steering Committee, while honoring the 10 Key Values and the Four Pillars of the Green Party US Platform. We endorse Matt Hand because we know he will serve us as Secretary, in a professional, courteous and friendly manner. We endorse Matt Hand because he brings energy and enthusiasm from the Green Party grassroots, that will invigorate our Steering Committee. We endorse Matt Hand because he is the Secretary we need to meet this historic moment, where the Green Party leads the Eco-Socialist Movement that heals Mother Earth.”

Nevada Green Party stands against the brutal apartheid regime of Israel, in support of one secular, democratic state for Palestinians and Israel
(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) — Our Green values oblige us to support popular movements for peace and demilitarization in Israel-Palestine, especially those that reach across the lines of conflict to engage both Palestinians and Israelis of goodwill.
We support the implementation of boycott and divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era, which includes pressuring our government to impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel; and we support maintaining these nonviolent punitive measures until Israel meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with the precepts of international law by:
⦁ Ending its occupation and colonization of all Palestinian lands and dismantling the Wall in the West Bank
⦁ Recognizing the fundamental rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
⦁ Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194
We support a U.S. foreign policy that promotes the creation of one secular, democratic state for Palestinians and Israelis on the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan as the national home of both peoples, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Nevada Green Party calls for:
⦁ An immediate end to economic and political colonialism worldwide.
⦁ An immediate end to U.S. weapons sales and all military aid to Israel.
⦁ An end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and the restoration of the right of Palestinian people to self-determination as stipulated in multiple U.N. resolutions.
⦁ Full support for the right of return of over seven million displaced Palestinian refugees.
⦁ Full support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement led by Palestinians and inspired by the South-African anti-apartheid movement.

Will Queens Elect New York’s First Green Party Councilmember? – www.gp.org
Edwin DeJesus’ underdog achievement occurs at a time when support for 3rd parties are at an all time high. A recent Gallup poll shows 62% of U.S. adults say the “parties do such a poor job representing the American people that a third party is needed.” Last year, Governor Cuomo pushed forward higher ballot access thresholds for third parties into the state budget. As a result, several minor parties lost their ballot status including the Green Party, Libertarian Party, Independence Party and SAM Party. The Working Families Party kept their ballot line by a thin margin. Although District 22 is a Democratic stronghold, DeJesus says he is building a diverse coalition of working class people from all backgrounds. DeJesus claimed, “The other day I was speaking with voters at Eddie’s Barber Shop when a Republican promised he would vote for me simply because I am not a Democrat. I’ll take it!”
