From the Co‑Chairs

April has been a month of sharp global headlines, steady local organizing, and renewed focus on our statewide initiative work. As always, our chapter continues to balance awareness of world events with the grounded, practical work of building democratic access here at home.

This month’s conversations ranged from international tensions to Nevada’s congressional map, from digital outreach strategy to the logistics of signature gathering. Through it all, one theme held steady: clarity, coordination, and community.

Global Awareness, Local Focus
Outreach & Social Media Strategy
Ballot Access & Party Infrastructure
Political Updates & Discussion
Closing Note

Global Awareness, Local Focus

Members discussed a wave of online content circulating from Iranian creators, including AI‑generated political media. The conversation broadened into recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz and public commentary surrounding it. While global events continue to shift rapidly, our chapter remains committed to grounding our work in verifiable information and keeping our organizing focused on Nevada communities.

A brief discussion also touched on the importance of responsible media sharing, especially as AI‑generated political content becomes more common. Members reaffirmed the value of maintaining accuracy and avoiding the spread of unverified claims.

Outreach & Social Media Strategy

The group explored options for digital outreach, including:

Whether TikTok remains viable for organizational messaging

The need for multiple volunteers to maintain consistent presence across platforms

The importance of diversifying outreach beyond any single app

Members discussed removing GPNV’s organizational presence from TikTok while allowing individuals to maintain personal accounts. The goal is to ensure compliance with platform rules while keeping communication channels open.

Ballot Access & Party Infrastructure

The chapter reviewed ongoing ballot access challenges and the importance of:

Keeping approved petitions accessible on official party websites

Ensuring that public-facing materials remain accurate and up to date

Maintaining clear separation between individual petitioners and party endorsement processes

Members reaffirmed their commitment to transparency and procedural compliance.

Political Updates & Discussion

The group briefly discussed several national political topics circulating in the news, including commentary about public figures and recent allegations involving federal officials. Members emphasized the importance of grounding discussions in verified reporting and avoiding the amplification of unconfirmed claims.

Closing Note

April reminded us that political work is both global and hyperlocal. While the world shifts around us, our chapter continues to build something steady: a movement rooted in clarity, community, and democratic access.
