Nevada Green Party Intervention
Representation by Attorney Paul Malikowski
BizPAC’s Legal Challenge
Current Status of the Initiative
Closing Note
Nevada Green Party Intervention
The Nevada Green Party has formally intervened on behalf of the creators of the Nevada Corporate Powers Clarification Act, supporting their effort to advance the statutory initiative through the process outlined in NRS 295.009 and NRS 295.015. The Party’s involvement ensures that the petitioners have organizational support as they navigate the administrative and legal requirements associated with statewide statutory measures.
Representation by Attorney Paul Malikowski
His assistance has been instrumental in preparing the Notice of Intent, reviewing statutory compliance, and responding to procedural challenges. The Nevada Green Party acknowledges and appreciates his commitment to public‑interest legal work and his willingness to support citizen‑driven reform.
BizPAC’s Legal Challenge
BizPAC, a Nevada political action committee, previously filed a lawsuit against the Nevada Secretary of State seeking to halt the advancement of the Nevada Corporate Powers Clarification Act. Their filing aimed to prevent the initiative petition from moving forward in the statutory process. Although the complaint reviewed did not list BizPAC’s officers or signatories, BizPAC is clearly identified as the plaintiff responsible for initiating the challenge. Their action forms part of the procedural history surrounding the initiative and remains a significant factor in the current legal landscape.
Current Status of the Initiative
The petitioners’ committee filed the Notice of Intent on July 8, 2026, including the required Description of Effect and the full text of the proposed law. Petition sheets and circulator affidavits were submitted in the format required by NRS 295.015 and NAC 295.020. Once circulation begins, signatures will be collected statewide and submitted for verification by county clerks. If sufficient signatures are validated, the measure will proceed to the ballot for voter consideration.
Closing Note
This edition summarizes the status of the initiative, the Nevada Green Party’s intervention, the contribution of legal counsel, and the procedural context involving BizPAC.
