From the Co‑Chairs
June brought clarity, alignment, and forward motion. With the statewide initiative now active, the lawsuit dismissed, and our internal structure solidified, this month’s work focused on grounding our petition effort in accuracy, unity, and statewide readiness.

Closing Note
This edition reflects the outcomes of our June meeting and the next steps we’ve committed to as a party.
Initiative Petition: Status & Clarifications
The statewide initiative to prohibit corporate spending in Nevada elections continues to move forward as a direct statutory initiative, approved by the Nevada Secretary of State and currently authorized for signature gathering.
During our June meeting, we reaffirmed the petition’s factual origin:
Concept: Andrea Warzlow
Drafting: Margery Hanson
Filing: Eric LaRue (filer of record)
Legal Counsel: Attorney Paul Malikowski (listed as filer due to his role)
We also noted the recent legal development: the lawsuit filed by BizPAC against the petitioners has been dismissed, removing a major obstacle and allowing us to proceed with clarity.
Petition Districts
We reviewed the four statewide petition districts defined under Nevada law and discussed the signature requirements that apply per district, not per county.
Key points covered:
Each district must meet the statutory signature threshold.
Districts 1 and 2 consist of single counties (Clark and Washoe).
Districts 3 and 4 require coordinated rural outreach across multiple counties.
Population and voter distribution will guide our volunteer allocation and signature‑gathering planning.
A district‑level tracking system will be implemented to ensure balanced progress across all four regions.
Petition Planning
Nye County at Large Member Robert Hanson presented a planning overview for the next phase of the petition effort, including:
District‑level signature targets
County‑level volunteer coordination
Rural outreach strategies
Documentation and verification procedures
Communication protocols for external organizations
Robert emphasized the importance of consistent messaging, accurate information, and a unified point of contact as we move into broader coalition conversations.
Petition Spokesperson Nomination
The party held a formal nomination and vote to designate a spokesperson for all external communications related to the initiative.
Robert Hanson was elected as the official spokesperson.
All future inquiries regarding the petition will be directed through:

This ensures clarity, consistency, and a single authoritative source for information.
Closing Note
June’s meeting marked a turning point: the petition is active, the legal dust has settled, and our internal structure is aligned. With a clear spokesperson, a district‑based plan, and a unified understanding of the petition’s origin and purpose, we are positioned to move forward with confidence.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this month’s work. Our strength continues to come from clarity, cooperation, and steady commitment to democratic participation in Nevada.
